The Research and Innovation Authority (RAI), established by Royal Decree 11/2026, is the autonomous body leading Oman’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) strategy. It serves as the national "Think Tank" for scientific advancement, linking research directly to economic needs.

 

Key 2026 Functions:

  • AI Leadership: Directs the national program for AI integration across government and industry.

  • Innovation Funding: Manages the national budget for research grants and technological incubators.
