National Centre for Financial Information (NCFI)

The National Centre for Financial Information (NCFI) serves as the official Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) of Oman. It acts as the central authority tasked with fighting money laundering and terrorism financing. By receiving and analyzing suspicious transaction reports (STRs), the NCFI serves as a "National Gatekeeper" to protect the Omani economy from illicit financial activity.

Key 2026 Functions:

  • Financial Surveillance: Analyzes reports from banks and financial institutions to detect unusual financial patterns.

  • International Cooperation: Partners with global bodies like FATF to maintain Oman’s high-trust status.

  • Crime Prevention: Acts as the bridge between the financial sector and law enforcement to halt financial crimes.
