Financial Services Authority (FSA)

The Financial Services Authority (FSA), established by Royal Decree 20/2024, is the specialized body regulating Oman’s non-banking financial sectors. It is responsible for regulating capital markets, insurance companies, accounting/auditing, and commodity markets to ensure absolute market integrity and transparency for all investors.

 

Key 2026 Functions:

  • Market Integrity: Monitors trading activities to prevent fraud and ensure transparency in the MSX.

  • Insurance Oversight: Sets the standards for all insurance providers and brokerage firms in the Sultanate.

  • Auditing Standards: Regulates accounting and auditing practices to maintain global financial compliance.
