Ukraine cultural day 2026

In the National Museum in Muscat, H.E.Olga Selykh, Ambassador of Ukraine in Oman, organised a wonderful evening.

Present were prominent Ukrainian artists, painters, fashion designers.

Spaces of Tranquility

The air in the National Museum of Oman felt different on the nights of February 18–19, 2026. It was filled with the powerful, soaring notes of Nataliya Shelepnytska, a "People’s Artist of Ukraine," whose voice carried a thousand years of history directly into the hearts of the Muscat audience.

Patronized by H.H. Sayyidah Mayyan bint Shihab Al Said, the Ukrainian Cultural Nights were a masterclass in diplomacy. While we often speak of "Economic Bridges" built on grain and technology, this evening was about the "Bridge of the Heart." The centerpiece was the exhibition "Spaces of Tranquility," inaugurated by the renowned visual artist Volodymyr Kozyuk. His paintings, like "Wheat Field.. Road," didn't just show landscapes; they showed a shared human longing for peace. Seeing Omani intellectuals and European diplomats standing together before a canvas depicting the awakening of the Ukrainian forests reminded us that culture is the one language we all speak fluently.

A major highlight of the evening was the fashion show by acclaimed fashion designer Oksana Polonets. She presented over 25 wonderful creations inspired by ancient Ukrainian art schools, including those listed on UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage register. Her designs—blending high-end modern silhouettes with traditional Petrykivka and Samchyky patterns—met the timeless elegance of Omani hospitality.

Ambassador H.E. Olga Selykh described the event as "historic." It was more than a cultural showcase; it was a testament to the resilience of a nation that refuses to let its song be silenced.
